Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MeshChat (the “App”, “we”, “us”) handles your information. MeshChat is an Android application published by QAYHAM that lets you chat with nearby devices over Bluetooth — without internet, without creating an account, and without sending your messages to our servers.

1.Information We Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store your chats or personal information on QAYHAM servers. The App is designed to work offline. Specifically:

• We do not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email or phone number.
• We do not upload message content, contacts, or chat history to our servers.
• We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the App.
• We do not sell your personal information.

When you chat, message content travels only between your device and nearby devices you connect to via Bluetooth. We cannot read those messages because they never pass through our systems.

2.How MeshChat Works

MeshChat uses your device’s Bluetooth radio to discover and communicate with other nearby users running the App. Core features work without an internet connection. You choose when to scan for nearby devices and when to send messages.

• Peer-to-peer: Messages are exchanged directly between devices over Bluetooth.
• No cloud sync: There is no central chat server operated by QAYHAM for message delivery.
• Local display name: You may set a nickname shown to nearby users. It is stored on your device and shared only when you connect to others.

3.Device Permissions

The App requests permissions only as needed for Bluetooth chat:

• Bluetooth (BLUETOOTH, BLUETOOTH_ADMIN, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT, BLUETOOTH_SCAN, BLUETOOTH_ADVERTISE): used to discover nearby devices, accept connections, and send and receive messages.
• Nearby devices (Android 12+): required by the operating system for Bluetooth discovery and connection.
• Location (on some Android versions): Android may require location permission for Bluetooth scanning even though MeshChat does not use GPS to track where you are. We use this permission only to enable Bluetooth device discovery as required by the OS.

You can review or revoke permissions at any time in Settings → Apps → MeshChat → Permissions. Revoking Bluetooth-related permissions will prevent the App from working.

4.Data Stored on Your Device

The following data may be stored locally on your device only:

• Chat messages: conversation history you have not deleted.
• Display name / profile label: the name you choose to show nearby users.
• App settings: preferences such as theme or notification options.
• Recent peers: identifiers for devices you have recently connected to, for convenience.

This data is removed when you clear app data or uninstall MeshChat. We do not maintain a backup copy on our servers.

5.Internet & Third-Party Services

Chatting in MeshChat does not require internet access. The App may open links to the following only when you explicitly use related features (for example, checking for updates or opening the Play Store listing):

• Google Play Store — app updates, ratings, or sharing the app link.

We do not integrate advertising networks or social media trackers. Any optional Play Store interaction is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

6.Children’s Privacy

MeshChat is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not require accounts and does not send data to our servers, no personal information is collected by QAYHAM from any user through normal use.

7.Data Security

Messages stay on your device and travel over Bluetooth to nearby devices. Security depends on your device settings (screen lock, encryption), Bluetooth range, and who you choose to connect with. We recommend:

• Only chatting with people you trust in your immediate vicinity.
• Keeping your device and the App updated.
• Clearing chat history or uninstalling the App when you no longer need it.

Bluetooth communication has a limited range and is intended for nearby use only.

8.Your Choices

• Delete individual chats or clear all app data from within the App or Android settings.
• Turn off Bluetooth or revoke App permissions to stop all communication.
• Uninstall the App to remove locally stored messages and settings.

9.Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
